To preserve, enhance and promote Chimney Rock Village as a vibrant, thriving community for those who live, work, and visit here.
The Chimney Rock Village Community Development Association (CDA) is a member-based marketing and economic development organization with the primary purpose to specifically promote Chimney Rock Village as a vibrant destination of distinction in Western North Carolina.
Specifically, our mission is to market and sell the natural beauty of Chimney Rock Village, its cultural and recreational opportunities, and member businesses, while simultaneously enhancing the quality experience for our guests and the quality of life of residents.
We do this in a manner that strives to improve the community's economic well-being while consciously promoting environmental integrity.
Our organization exists as a 501 © 6, business not-for-profit. It is managed by a president and board made up of Village merchants and residents.
Revenue from annual membership dues as well as from special events and the Buy-a-Brick program are used to market and promote our business community and enhance our natural and recreational amenities. This includes regular improvements and repairs to the Rocky Broad RiverWalk, enhancements to our pocket parks, the Gathering Place Amphitheater, planting flowers and installing park benches, and regular gatherings to pick up trash to keep the Village clean and inviting.
The importance of our organization's role in the life and vibrancy of Chimney Rock Village cannot be overstated.
Because the residential population is small, the municipal budget is limited, the Village can only thrive through the interdependency and collaboration between the CDA, local government, and Village merchants.
Other Ways to Support our Work:
Become a business member or Resident Supporter: Businesses must be physically located on Memorial Highway, (Hwy 74) in Bat Cave and the public beach/Morse Park area of Lake Lure. Supporter-level memberships are open to all individuals. Note that supporter-level members are not allowed to vote on matters that come before the organization.
Make a financial contribution to a specific project or event: We are always working on enhancing our sidewalks, expanding access to the RiverWalk, or adding extra touches to the Gathering Place. Following the floods to our area in 2018, it was the many contributions we received that made all the difference in our ability to clean up and repair.
