Where the locals are so genuinely friendly they infect the visitors with their warmth and the feeling gets passed on up and down the street. Where each vendor's personality is reflected in the choice of wares for sale, and where the fudge is homemade and the ice cream hand packed. And all situated in one of the most beautiful natural settings in all the mountains-Hickory Nut Gorge. Here on the banks of the Rocky Broad River, which sliced its way through the high terrain eons ago, one can only stand in awe of the magnificence of nature on display in the rugged cliffs, the sheer drop of a 400-foot waterfall, incredible rock formations, glimpses of wildlife, and the joyous rush of the river itself. |
OUR PURPOSE- The Community Development Association (CDA) was created to promote economic revitalization of the Chimney Rock Village area. The CDA is furthering the sole-based tourist economy through the beautification of public and private places, the provision of public access to the Rocky Broad River at designated locations and by providing an overall pleasant environment for our guests, visitors and residents.
Our location is unique-Chimney Rock Village is situated in the center of historical Hickory Nut Gorge, lying directly below the famous vistas of Chimney Rock Mountain, containing almost three miles of the scenic Rocky Broad River, which is the prime source for the renowned pristine waters of Lake Lure.
The CDA membership consists of local business owners and concerned residents who want to promote economic development through appropriate promotional material, by improving the village's physical appearance and by developing new amenities to entice visitors and tourists.
